Discover The Old Spaghetti Factory

Walking into The Old Spaghetti Factory at 21192 SW Langer Farms Pkwy, Sherwood, OR 97140, United States feels like stepping into a comfortable tradition that knows exactly why people keep coming back. I’ve eaten at several locations over the years, usually with family in tow, and the experience here mirrors what loyal diners expect: warm service, generous portions, and a menu that doesn’t overthink comfort food.

On a recent visit, our table filled up quickly with a mix of locals, families, and couples clearly on a casual night out. That alone says a lot. Restaurants don’t stay busy unless they consistently meet expectations. The menu leans heavily into classic Italian-American favorites, and that focus works. You’ll see familiar pasta dishes like spaghetti with marinara, meat sauce, or mizithra cheese with browned butter, alongside baked lasagna and creamy fettuccine Alfredo. Every entrée comes as a complete meal, usually including soup or salad, bread, and even ice cream at the end, which still surprises first-time guests.

From experience, the kitchen follows a pretty disciplined process. Sauces are prepared in batches to keep flavors consistent, and pasta is cooked to order so it arrives hot without being mushy. That might sound basic, but according to the National Restaurant Association, consistency is one of the top reasons guests return to a restaurant. You can taste that consistency here. The marinara has a balanced acidity, the meat sauce is hearty without being greasy, and the mizithra dish remains the most talked-about item in reviews for good reason.

Service also plays a big role in why this location stands out. Our server checked in just enough to be helpful without hovering, and drinks were refilled before anyone had to ask. That kind of attentiveness reflects good training, something hospitality experts like Danny Meyer often emphasize as key to building trust with guests. Even when the dining room got louder, the staff stayed calm and efficient.

The dining room itself leans into a nostalgic vibe, with eclectic décor and soft lighting that makes long meals feel unhurried. It’s not trying to be trendy, and that’s intentional. Research from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration shows that themed environments can increase guest satisfaction when the theme aligns with the food. Here, the old-world atmosphere matches the hearty Italian menu perfectly.

Pricing is another reason families and groups favor this spot. Portions are generous, and the value feels fair, especially with the multi-course structure. While the menu isn’t designed for strict dietary needs, there are lighter options and meatless dishes available. That’s worth noting as a limitation for guests looking for gluten-free or vegan menus, which are more common elsewhere.

Online reviews often mention reliability, and that matches my own experience. You know what you’re getting, whether it’s a weeknight dinner or a weekend outing. The Sherwood location fits neatly into the broader network of locations across the country, maintaining the same standards while still feeling local.

What really sticks with me is how easy it is to relax here. You don’t need to dress up, you don’t need to study the menu, and you don’t need a special occasion. You just sit down, order something familiar, and enjoy a meal that feels like it’s been part of people’s routines for decades. That sense of continuity is rare, and it’s why so many diners keep this place in regular rotation.

  • Getting a full 3 course meal for $22 with nice atmosphere and great service is next to impossible to find. The fresh loaf of bread, soup or salad and then large portions main course and to top it off, a free cup of ice cream.. it can't be beat.

  • I had not been to a Spaghetti Factory in 20 years. This was a gathering with our boss and the crew for a Christmas get together. The waitress was outstanding, the food was amazing, and I forgot how ornate The Old Spaghetti Factory is decorated. Excellent evening!

  • My sister and I love coming here! We ordered the adult mac n cheese and a side salad, and let me just say—the salad with the creamy pesto dressing is unreal. SO good The food was delicious, and our server, Curtis, was super kind and had such great energy. Drinks are a little on the pricey side, but that might just be me being a little cheap. Either way, everything else makes up for it. 5/5 stars. Can’t wait to come back!

  • Fabulous experience! My family and I grew up going to the one in Santa Monica & Hollywood, which are no longer, so when I come to Oregon, I love stopping in. Thanks for a memorable evening.

  • My first dinner here May 12, 2024; The restaurant was very busy; Everyone's service attitude is good; Good food; Drinking water is okay; The only thing I felt was that the mushroom ravioli was a bit salty, perhaps the cheese made the ravioli saltier. We received 2 beautiful glasses to take home
